Data handling

What happens to a recording, step by step.

Video uploads never leave your device as video. The audio is extracted in your browser and only that is sent, so Loam never receives or stores anyone's face.

Uploads are transcribed, analysed, and stored against your account. Deletion works per idea rather than per call: it removes every recording, transcript and analysis for that idea at once, and your coaching view keeps only a count of deleted records, never their content.

By default nothing you upload is used to improve Loam. There is one setting that changes this, it is off until you turn it on, and it carries an obligation: everyone audible on a recording must have agreed to it. That is not a checkbox Loam can tick for you.

Where contribution is on, transcripts are stripped of names, company names and contact details before they are used for anything, and audio is never retained for that purpose, only the de-identified text.
