About Loam

Loam is built by one person, in Yerevan, on one day a week. That constraint shapes the product: it does not try to be a research platform, it tries to answer one question well, which is whether this problem is worth your next six months.

The name is a soil term. Loam is the mix of sand, silt and clay that holds water without drowning a root and drains without going dry, which is why it is the ground you plant in when you care whether the thing lives. What you grow is your choice. The ground decides whether the choice was any good.

It exists because the alternatives are bad. Scrolling forums rewards whatever you read most recently. Idea generators write confident paragraphs with nothing underneath them. Your own frustrations are usually a market of one. All three cost years, and the cost is invisible until it has already been paid.

Ideas are not scarce. Anyone can produce a hundred before lunch. What is scarce is a reason to believe one of them, and that reason is the whole product.
